GQ Jimmy G back in BeanTown? Brady where?!?!

Follow the bread crumbs…

Belichick “furious” after trading Jimmy Garoppolo.

Jimmy Garoppolo signed a 5 year $137 million extension exactly 1 year ago (2-8-2019).

If you look at his contract, most of the guaranteed money has already been paid out. On April 1, 2020 a trigger kicks in that guarantees $15.7 million of his base salary for the 2020 season. But if he is traded/cut before that date, then the dead money would only be $4.5 million for the 49ers.

Essentially, if John Lynch decided to move on from Jimmy G, he could do so very easily (cap wise).

Cap savings for moving Jimmy G= $22.4 million
Dead money (2020) if traded/cut before April 1= $4.2 million

Just for fun,

Jimmy Garoppolo is traded back to Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

Tom Brady signs with his hometown team the 49ers.

Kyle Shanahan and Tom Brady (49ers) meet Bill Belichick and Jimmy Garoppolo (Patriots) in Super Bowl 55.

Tom Brady wins the Super Bowl against the Patriots!

Cool story bro. No, I mean it. Well done.

Good stuff, except you’re wrong. Tom Brady’s hopes are dashed by Matt Patricia’s Lions in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Ok, here’s another one…(DJ Khalid voice)

“Jerry Jones raids the booth!”

Owner of the Dallas Cowboys agrees to terms with Troy Aikman, Tony Romo, Jimmy Johnson…and Joe Buck?

The total deal is worth over $1.4 Billion and includes partial ownership of the Cowboys.

Troy Aikman will take over General manager duties while Jimmy Johnson becomes the first HOF head coach to come out of retirement. Back in the saddle Jimmy!

Tony Romo will take over the play calling duties and have a dual role on the roster as the backup QB.

And where does Joe Buck fall into all of this? Someone needs to coach the Dallas defense…right?

Joe Buck-le up! Welcome to Jerry’s World!

Could be wrong but didn’t Joe Gibbs come out of retirement to coach the Redskins again after being enshrined?
