Post some of your dreams too!!!
My dreams were shattered when Martha gave dumb and dumber another year.
All those two are going to do is screw this team for the next 5 years. Think Millen and Sarge.
I think the Lions need a lot of help. We lack depth and talent. As injuries rose the lack of depth on the team stood out.
Since we’re stuck with BQ and MP for another year my biggest dream already hasn’t come true.
With that in mind my off season dreams are that the Lions trade down and get a haul of draft picks. A trade down with Indy for their 1st, 2 second rounders and a late day pick would be about right compensation wise.
In FA the Lions lose GG, A’Shawn, Amendola Daniels, Thomas and Martin.
We trim some roster fat and send our slow jack LBer Kennard packing. We also part ways with Wagner and his inconsistent play.
We extend M. Jones 2 years and reduce this years cap number.
We extend Golladay.
Slay trades fall short so Lions extend him.
Snacks decided to return for 2020.
Tavon Wilson resigns to help add veteran depth at S.
FA Signings -
Edge - Bud Dupree - Improves pass rush, size and Speed at OLB.
DT - Danny Shelton - A bigger better A’Shawn with experience in MP’s defense.
CB - Chris Harris - The Lions tried to trade for him last year but failed. They paid big to get a solid veteran stop gap CB on a 3 year rental. Securing the Lions number two CB spot.
#13 After trade Lions take OT Tristan Wirfs. With a gaping hole at RT and Decker possibly on his last year the Lions get a solid RT that brings much need physicality to the Lions OL.
#34 DT Justin Madanuike - A versatile DT who can play all along the DL. A perfect fit to be a rotation piece on MP’s DL.
#35 RB - Travis Etienne - The Lions find their Riddick replacement. Etienne brings speed that the Lions lack and will be a huge asset in the receiving game. Perfect compliment to KJ and Bo.
#44 OG - Shane Lemieux - The Lions find a starting caliber OG that should be an upgrade over GG.
67 CB - Jeff Gladney - You can never have enough young CB’s.
109 WR - Justin Jefferson - In a deep WR class the Lions get lucky that a round 2 talent drops to them in round 4 Jefferson is too good to pass up and gives Stafford another weapon.
150 OLB - Bryce Huff - Has the size and athleticism that MP likes at LBer.
174 DE - Bradley Anae - He would probably be a pass rush specialist for the Lions. Anae had some dominating games against some really good OT’s but he’s raw and not a complete DE. He needs to grow as a player but would be a pass rush specialist / de project that has a high ceiling.
182 LB - Sage Lewis - Has the size and Versatility that MP likes in his LBers.
This offseason is very doable money wise and would fill a lot of the Lions holes. I’m hoping BQ can have an offseason similar to this.
do we have that many picks?
I thought it was only six picks overall prior to the draft itself
We have 7.
Gained a 5th from Diggs trade.
Lost a 7th from Eli Harold trade.
#13…Tristan Wirfs would be a steal. I doubt he makes it to #13 but in this scenario if he’s there you can’t pass. He is well suited at LT and only played RT because Jackson was more comfortable at LT and the Hawkeye’s left well enough alone. Probably the most athletic OT in this class.
Good with #34 as well.
#35…CB Cameron Dantzler. No more 2nd round picks on RB’s, esp in a somewhat loaded class.
#44…Good with Lemieux because he represents great value but investing a first and second in the OL, not sure it’s a great idea even with the extra picks.
#67…Chuba Hubbard RB. Speed and vision and maybe the best RB in the draft.
#109…I don’t think Jefferson falls this far. If he does, great, but I doubt it. I have DE Nick Coe here.
#150…WR, Return Man and emergency QB who went 5-2 as a starter. Lynn Bowden, jr. Not a reach here, this IS your Swiss Army Knife player that every team can use. In his sophomore year in the Citrus Bowl he had 5 receptions and a punt return for a TD to help beat Penn State. Winner of the Paul Hornung Award for his versatility.
#182 WR Chase Claypool. Big, 6’4" and 229 with decent speed and maybe the best WR in the draft for yards after the catch.
Love those picks but we really have to hit on those 2nd round picks. So maybe BPA which might be someone that makes our head hurt.
Not unless we trade down.
But Offseason dreaming…
Marvin and Golliday show up in the “best shape of their lives” and play 20 games…
For some stupid reason, the Redskins DON’T draft Chase Young, and for some illogical reason, the Lions DO draft Chase Young, and he goes on to win DROY, with his 14 sacks and 37 hurries.
Snacks plays 20 games, doing his best in a contract year, stuffing every run to a top 5 rating in run protection grade.
The Lions 2nd round pick, a rb ( choose from one of the many selections) is a perfect spell for Kerryon, and the two of them end up top ten in YPC and TD’s.
The Lions Young safeties, along with a FA CB, end up the season as a top unit in the league ( according to grades), doing thier best to keep the Lions as a top 15 pass defense.
Alas… we all know where this ends up.
6-10, new coach, new gm, new scheme… A new hope.
19-0 until proven otherwise baby!
